چکیده

We develop a method for reconstructing the three-dimensional (3D) trajectories of droplets in flight captured by multiple unsynchronized cameras. Triangulation techniques that underpin most stereo reconstruction methods do not apply in this context as the image streams recorded by different cameras are not synchronized. We assume instead a priori knowledge about the motion of the droplets to reconstruct their 3D trajectories given unlabelled two-dimensional tracks in videos recorded by different cameras. Our approach also avoids the challenge of accurately matching droplet tracks across multiple video frames. We evaluate the proposed method using both synthetic and real data.

Fast 3D position measurement with two unsynchronized cameras

Stereo vision systems have been proposed and used in various fields. They require cameras to synchronize with each other for tracking objects. In this paper, we present a vision system which uses two normal, unsynchronized cameras for calculating the 3D position of objects. The unsynchronization in shutter timing of cameras is used to process more images per second than a synchronized camera sy...

A Pseudo Stereo Vision Method for Unsynchronized Cameras

Stereo vision systems have been proposed and used in various fields. They require cameras to synchronize with each other for tracking objects accurately measuring depth. In this paper, we present a vision system which uses two normal, unsynchronized cameras for calculating 3D positions of objects. The unsynchronization in shutter timing of cameras has a merit that it processes faster than a syn...

High Frequency 3D Reconstruction from Unsynchronized Multiple Cameras

Stereo reconstruction generally requires image correspondence such as point and line correspondences in multiple images. Cameras need to be synchronized to obtain corresponding points of time-varying shapes. However, the image information obtained from synchronized multiple cameras is redundant, and has limitations with resolution. In this paper, we show that by using a set of unsynchronized ca...

Depth Recovery from Unsynchronized Video Streams

Dynamic depth recovery from unsynchronized video streams is an open problem. In this paper, we propose a novel framework for estimating dense depth information of dynamic scenes using multiple video streams captured from unsynchronized stationary cameras. The main idea is to convert the unsynchronized depth computation problem to the traditional synchronized depth computation problem in which m...

A Pseudo Stereo Vision Method using Asynchronous Multiple Cameras

Systems of multiple baseline stereo vision (Okutomi & Kanade, 1993 and Kanade et al., 1997) have been proposed and used in various fields. They require cameras to synchronize with one another to track objects accurately to measure depth. However, inexpensive cameras such as Web-cams do not have synchronous systems. A system of tracking human motion (Mori et al., 2001) and a method of recovering...
